See The World in a Different Way With Anish Kapoor

Staff from our pyramid primaries joined us (The Woodroffe School) to look at how we could use works of art to stimulate learning throughout the primary curriculum.

To enable us to do this, we organise for a visit to the Royal Academy in London were we viewed the Anish Kapoor Exhibition.

Anish Kapoor is one of the most exciting contemporary, internationally known British Artists working today. His work was not just engaging or appealing, but also open to interpretation on many levels.

At the gallery the group discussed how the Anish Kapoor art work could provide a stimulus to aid projects and activities. Inspired the group went back to school to put their ideas into lesson plans.

It soon became apparent how successful the ideas/lessons had been and how much potential they had for the students to engage with art in a very exciting way.

Wanting to produce something that would aid other schools we have produced some resources that are packed with lesson plans, pictures, ideas and vocabulary to bring art to life.

These lessons have been created, planned and delivered by the teachers with specific age ranges in mind, however, they are guidelines only and will hopefully be interpreted/tweaked to fit your individual needs.
