Turn Lyme Green

Graphics students from year ten were put to the test in their first project of their course with the aim of producing a piece of design work which would be published and seen all over Lyme Regis.

The project was set in line with the aims of an environmental working group called Lyme Go Zero. They were looking for a new logo for their 'Ban the plastic bag' campaign. The students had to work within the constraints of;

  • To communicate a distinctly Lyme Regis identity
  • Ideally be usable for wider eco activities in Lyme Regis, as well as the campaign to reduce plastic bag use
  • Striking
  • Memorable
  • conveying   an eco-friendly 'message'.

30 students developed their flash and Photoshop skills in a mad dash to meet the tight deadline and rose to the occasion, producing very professional results.

The designs were warmly received by the client who had difficulty in deciding which design to use chose, due to the high standard of the work. After much deliberation Jason Dickins' final design was chosen. Well done Jason, a cracking design.

The bags will be revealed to the general public on Thursday 01 st November.
