A Packed Hall for this year’s Spring Concert!

The Music department showcased its varied and talented ensembles and soloists to a packed hall!

Naomi Aves having been too poorly to sing a solo in the carol concert wowed the audience with her rendition of Cesar Franc’s Panis Angelicus.

The ever expanding Early Music Orchestra led by the inimitable Mr Morgan performed pieces from the 1500’s through to the current day with the theme from Wallace & Grommit.

The junior choir sang pop favorites Pompeii by Bastille and Here Comes the Sun by the Beatles, the latter of which was accompanied by a live band.

The pinnacle of the evening had to be the Senior Choir with live band performing a medley of hits from ABBA’s Mamma Mia! Mr Sweetland spurned the opportunity to sing a solo that opened with the line ‘I’ve been so lucky I am the girl with golden hair!’ … can’t imagine why!

Equally impressive were the performances by the Chamber choir lead by Melanie Sheppard, the Saxophone choir led by Alison Davies who also ‘let rip’ (her words) on her tenor sax during Waterloo.

All in all a wonderful evening of musical entertainment very well done to all involved.
