Year 8 students Louis Jenkins, Maria Sage, Summer Davis and Katie Hobbs spent the day at the Lyme Regis Fossil Festival in May where they were tasked with planning and running an art activity for local primary school children as part of their Silver Arts Award.

Throughout the day the students had six groups of pupils from different schools working on the activity. All the children participating really enjoyed the chance to be creative and get some art tips from Woodroffe students!

Here is what our students thought about the day:

“It was a new experience for me and it was good to give the children a chance to do something new. It was great fun and I’d definitely do it again”

“I thought the children were really enthusiastic, it made it easier to teach them”

“I liked the way the children were enthusiastic to get into our activity”

“I really enjoyed doing it and learnt a lot about communication and leadership. It was fun seeing what the children created, I would definitely do this again”
