For the leadership part of their Arts Award, Year 8 students Nikita and Amber have been running a textile club for Year 7 students on Monday lunchtimes.

The girls have been showing them how to make a bag from an old hoodie!

They both agreed it had been a real challenge teaching a group they didn’t know, but also a great experience as we have hopefully been able to teach the students new skills and produce a finished product.

Some comments from the Year 7 involved:

“It has been great fun, Nikita and Amber put a lot of thought into it.”

“I like the recycling idea, making something new out  of unwanted clothes.”

“They were very helpful and knew what they were doing.”
