During the February Half Term 12 gifted and talented artists took part in a three day Residential Art Course in Beaford House, North Devon.

Mrs Wood, Director of Arts, visited the students at the end of the course and saw the exhibition of work they had produced in the three days they had been there. All of the students had produced a full body of exciting and creative work and the theme ‘Painting in Layers’ allowed them to use oil paints on large canvasses to produce non figurative work based on the landscape and rivers that surround Beaford House. Mrs Wood was particularly impressed in the free expressive style of painting that the students had produced and the tutor had been extremely impressed by the talent, attitude and enthusiasm of all the Woodroffe contingency.

The following students took part in the course:

From Year 9 Chloe Harris, Izzy Brown, Lindsey Johnson, Ryan Smith and Aurelia Welch.

From Year 8 Anna Brent, Georgia Sivier Voller, Ellen Croften, Katie Mcgoran, Mia Cawthorne, Iona Adair and Lottie Rouse.

Beaford House are running another residential course during the May half term for Years 7 and 8. If parents are interested in knowing more about these art courses please look at the Beaford House web site for further details.
