Several Year 8 students have been busy working on the leadership part of their Silver Arts Award, planning and delivering a variety of workshops for younger children.

Fern Houlihan and Lily Simpson ran a special valentines themed sewing workshop for 8 - 10 year olds at the Sewing Sanctuary, The Town Mill, Lyme Regis, where the children made hearts and bags from felt, learning new sewing stitches along the way.

Fern said, “The experience was really good, taking a group of eight children, making a lesson plan that worked really well for my activities. We made and decorated phone cases and foam badges. It was a lot of work but worth it, I feel more confident and I enjoyed it!”
