The launch of Meet the Ecosaurs, the children’s illustrated Jurassic Coast dinosaurs storybook written by Lyme Regis author Janis Lane, was a huge success on Saturday at Lyme Regis Library.

Parents and children turned out in force to support the launch, with massive interest in both the book itself and the innovative and educational ‘create your own timeline’ activity, overseen by Woodroffe School community art teacher Alison Bowskill. Janis signed copies of the book, while children of all ages learned when real-life versions of the Ecosaurs characters roamed the earth.

“It was lovely to see the library so full and there was a real buzz, with whole families enjoying the activity and the social element,” comments Lyme Regis Librarian Claire Leech. “It’s such a charming book, as educational as it is entertaining with great fact files and activities, and I’m pleased we were able to launch it in the library.”
