Cabaret 2010 -

Sixth form mentors, Catherine Butler, Matt Hall, Matt Hartnell and Amy Morgan had been working with producer and teacher Kathy Elliott for over four months to prepare for the event.

An impressive 88 auditions took place from which 22 acts were chosen. There were many first time performers featured on stage.  Students from all year groups performed a variety of acts and the Lighting, Sound and Backstage crews were dominated by student support.

Amongst the vast range of talent on display were : a group of Year 9 boys performing their own choreographed Street Dance, two award winning gymnasts, a Year 9 band formed during a music lesson, and a very well received comedy sketch performed by a group of Lower Sixth students.

As is now tradition, Upper Sixth students closed the show with a colourful and energetic dance.

£3,500 approximately was raised,; half will be divided into donations to the Alzheimer’s

Society, Sightsavers and Smiletrain.

The rest of the money will be used to purchase further equipment for the ever-flourishing music department led by Jon Cullimore.

Cabaret 2010 took place over three nights and, as is now seemingly the norm, all tickets were sold in advance.
