Teaching Assistant

Location: The Woodroffe School, Lyme Regis, DT7 3LX
Salary: Grade 3 (Point 3-4) £11.79 – £11.98 per hour

We require a part time, permanent, term time only, Teaching Assistant to join our inclusion team. The primary function of this role is to provide assistance for students with additional learning needs. This is a non-teaching post and recent experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar post within an educational establishment would be desirable.

The MOJ’s guidance on the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the Exceptions Order 1975, provides information about which convictions must be declared during job applications and related exceptions and further information about filtering offences can be found in the DBS filtering guide.

Keeping Children Safe in Education
The school will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. This check will be part of a safeguarding check, and the search will purely be based on whether an individual is suitable to work with children. All aspects of social media and internet searches will be conducted. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination, a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the searches and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

Governors

Partnership Governor

The Woodroffe School a seeking to appoint a Partnership Governor.

We would be particularly interested to hear from those who have strong links with the local community, businesses and organisations and are not current parents/carers or members of staff.

Partnership governors have the same role and responsibilities as other governors but are appointed for a specific skill set or experience. New governors are supported in their role by a mentor and online training opportunities are provided through the National Governance Association.
