Dear Parents, Carers and Friends of The Woodroffe School,
Thank you for taking the time to read through our latest edition of ‘Rough Notes’ and the last for 2020, a year most of us would very much like to see consigned to the history books.
We have enjoyed a very busy term and have had the opportunity to engage in many positive activities despite the challenges faced. Our previous editions have brilliantly documented life at Woodroffe across the term, if you have not had a chance to read these, I would thoroughly recommend having a look.
In this edition, we are missing some of the traditional and festive events that we would normally share. Despite the restrictions, the December edition is packed with interesting submissions from across the school, I hope you enjoy what we have selected.
I would like to thank our wonderful PTFA and Millers Farm Shop for running the Christmas raffle. I enjoyed the opportunity of doing something a little more festive and normal during my stint on the stall. Thanks to all those shoppers who were happy to be pounced upon as they went about their weekly shop, your donations are gratefully received.
In support of my Christmas assembly, many of the staff have taken part in the making of a music video singing along to the classic anthem by The Proclaimers – ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’. This is our second Christmas music video, following our first release last year of the Band Aid classic, ‘Do they know it’s Christmas?’ The video brought a little humour to the end of a long term and fitted neatly with the title for this year’s assembly, which was – How far are you prepared to go? We even managed to get a special guest performance from Santa too!
I hope you enjoy our latest edition of ‘Rough Notes’. Should you wish to find out more about our school, news or events, please visit the school website which I am sure you will find useful. In addition, for regular updates, why not look at our social media outlets:
