As always it has been a busy time within the Geography department. Most importantly a big well done to all the Year 13 and Year 11 students who had been working so hard to prepare for the summer exams. The Year1 3’s are still finishing their NEA projects so they can be submitted while the Year 11 students have work on their advance resources set on Teams for them to complete.
All students should be receiving work from their teachers via Teams. The Year 10 and Year 12 year groups do have exams in a year from now so it is vital they stay on top of their studies. We did have some excellent fieldwork opportunities lined up for this summer. At present the 6th Form trip to Leeson House is likely to be postponed but other fieldwork activities will be arranged. The Year 10 trip to Exeter and Dawlish Warren is also postponed but we will look to provide this opportunity early in the new academic year. We are also looking forward to the Naples trip in October. At present this is still going ahead and we are hoping to increase the uptake on this.
Over the next few weeks most of us are clearly limited on opportunities to get outside. However, I would urge all parents to purchase or dig out a local OS map of the area (Explorer map Number 116) and plan what local adventures you may be able to do. There are a lot of quiet footpaths on our doorstep just waiting to be explored.
Have a good spring.
