National Museum Takeover Day

On Friday 17th November some of the Year 8 students who are doing their Silver Arts Award went down to Lyme Regis Museum to work with children from St. Michael’s Primary School. This was for ‘National Museum Takeover Day’. A few weeks before, we were split into groups and had to plan different activities based on the Museum’s collections, for the children to do during the day. There were 6 groups and some did drawings, some role play and another group did a treasure hunt around the Museum.

We all really enjoyed the day, it was difficult at first teaching the groups, but as the day went on we became more confident and improved our communication skills. It was a great experience and we had lots of positive feedback from the children and Museum staff.
