Welcome. Mathematics is taught because it is useful and because it is an important form of communication. It should also be a source of delight and wonder, offering intellectual excitement; for example the discovery of relationships, the pursuit of rigour and the achievement of elegant solutions. Students should appreciate the creativity of mathematics; it is a live subject which is continuously evolving as technology and the needs of society evolve. (Quote from Dorset Curriculum document).
